WELCOME

My name is Nicole Musgrave, and I'm a folklorist trained at Western Kentucky University.  In 2010, I earned my BS in International Business and my BA in Comparative Studies with a specialization in Folklore from The Ohio State University.  In May 2018, I graduated from WKU, earning my MA in Folk Studies with a concentration in public folklore.  Currently, I serve as the Folk Arts Education VISTA at Hindman Settlement School.

My interests in folklore include foodways, health, Appalachian culture, and community development through applied folklore practice. Additionally, I love pursuing projects through visual and aural mediums—such as films, photo essays, and podcasts—to share stories that illuminate expressive culture.
